TOUR TSIRIBIHINA RIVER - DESCENT BY BARGE + VISIT TSINGY BEMARAHA and St.Marie

It is a small adventure tour on tsiribihina by a barge or motor boat. This tour on tsiribihina is the most comfortable for tsiribihina descent. We travel on the river with a fluffy barge; usually covered. The barge can also be in the shade during the day with big space where you can lie. We continue to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park after our tour on tsiribihina. Tsingy is a deformation of the limestone rocks. It is a plateau entirely covered by the sea formerly 200 million years ago. These dead shells and corals that weld together slowly  forming successive layers for several tens millions of years. You doubt it … ??? Come in to see the spot. We end our trip at the west coast by visiting famous baobabs such as baobabs avenue on sunset, not to mention the various types of tomb structures SAKALAVA.

Day 1

Antanananarivo – Miandrivazo

Pick up from your hotel then direction to Antsirabe; on first time we cross the refreshing highlands with their astonishing mud houses, their small churches perched on nipples or hillside, imposing rocks everywhere, terraced ricefield like a big staircase and sadder but not more spectacular, lavaka or collapse due by the erosion. Arrive at Antsirabe or vichy city and break for lunch.

We continue to drive to Miandrivazo in the afternoon; landscape changes and everything at all even the temperature because this part is is the second hottest city at Madagascar.

Day 2

Tour Tsiribihina by barge

Miandrivazo is a small village surrounded by a large mountain; starting point of our tour on Tsiribihina. First and before of all, we should register to the council office and police. Departure to Masiakampy where we embark on river. It is a contemplative tour and very close nature. Beautiful landscapes along the two sides of this river with various varieties of birds and chameleons.

Day 3

Descent by barge on Tsiribihina

It's the second day tour on Tsiribihina; we cross over Bemaraha gorge. In fact we cross two systems of throat cut in the limestone up to 50m high…It's another world!!!! Kalanchoes, two-colored pachypodiums constitute flora such as verreauxi, fulvus lemur and nocturnal Microcebus, whistling ducks, humpbacks ...

Day 4

Belo/Tsiribihina – Bekopaka

Half day tour on Tsiribihina. Parrots, bats and maybe crocodiles accompagned you during this last day. Departure to Tsingy village; it’s a route about 100km but in 4 hours with a good 4wd. We passed in many small village and happyness of those children in each village animated our trip. We cross river Manambolo by ferry; night to Tanankoay or Orchidées hotel for 2 nights.
Day 5

Tsingy Bemaraha

One day that we have been waiting for several moment; unique in the world, classified world heritage of UNESCO as well as the natural and media inventory of the operation Okavango by Nicolas Hulot, the references and superlatives do not miss to describe these karst formations in forms of needles whose Access ways are as epic as the geological history of its famous peaks.

We start our tour on big Tsingy; crossed by a gigantic labyrinth and its cathedral; climbing up to top point with a belvedere has been managed for lointain view; coming down to the hanging point.

Back to Bekopaka village to visit small Tsingy.
Day 6

Bekopaka - Morondava

Same way as day 4; 1 hour break at Belo / Tsiribihina to enjoy their shellfish dishes then crossed Tsiribihina river by its ferry and off-road direction to Morondava. It’s the region and garden of baobab but the most famous are the baobab alley on sunset.

Overnight to Trecicogne hotel.
Day 7

Morondava - Antsirabe

Road back to Antsirabe; we must pass again at Miandrivazo where we stop for lunch and short break. 7km before arriving at Antsirabe, we passed on sacred lake Andraikiba and Tritriva to see its mysterious history.

Day 8

Antsirabe - Andasibe

After good breakfast, we profit our opportunity to visit Antsirabe like cathedral, miniature, zebu horn confections, precious stones cutting; we don’t forget to visit small market. Road back to Antananarivo; tasting fat duck menu at Behenjy and visit of manufacturing pot by aluminum at Ambatolampy.

Day 9

Andasibe national park

This park regroup special reserve INDRI INDRI. The reserve is indeed famous for its INDRIS colonies with a powerful shout and impressive size. A 4 hour tour will be offered on ANALAMAZAOTRA; departure to VAKONA reserve in the afternoon.

Day 10

Andasibe – Manambato – Ankanin’ny Nofy

Road trip to Tamatave; on 60km before Tamatave we will turn on right for about 7km. This is a small village called Manambato where we take a boat to Ankanin'ny Nofy or "dream nest". By speed boat on pangalane channel arround 1 hours.

Check-in to Palmarium hotel then visit. It’s the opportunity for you to revise your range in terms of lemurs. More species in freedom, totally accustomed to a prescience of man who mingle happily between them. Other endemic plants able to discover as the xerophyte plant, acacias with yellow flowers...
Day 11

Palmarium – Tamatave - Mahambo

Return by speed boat to Manambato; departure to Tamatave. This city is first commercial port at Madagascar as well as capital Betsimisaraka ethnic group and EST coast. We have lunch here and then join directly to Mahambo.

Day 12

Mahambo – Sainte Marie

Now, driver's service end here; you’ll crossed the sea with safe speed boat to join St.Marie. Assistance at the port then transfer to Lakana hotel and staying there for 3 nights.
Day 13 - 14

Sainte Marie

St.Marie is one of the most spectacular city to see whales from June to September. Not at all, there are the beautiful beaches on the paradisiac island at “île aux nattes”. St.Marie has more than 20,000 inhabitants and they are all nice and charming. To enjoy our vacation, we spent 2 days on site to discover; excursions on the sea will be possible, raid by mountain bike but all those activity are checking with hotel responsible.
Day 15

St.Marie - Antananarivo

Transfer at St.Marie airport then domestic flight to Antananarivo

We profit our end of journey to make city tour like visit queen palace, buying some souvenirs at Digue market and visiting railway station.
