An exceptional adventure trip on the Malagasy highlands and crossing of the slopes between Tulear to Morondava. This is a 100% idea created by the M.T.E team for the adventurous who love discovery of built trails. Baobab, archipelagos of dry forests, wild plantations are the main vegetation of the southern and western coast.

TRIP OFFERS:

Day 1

Antananarivo - Andasibe

Pick up at the hotel; continue the journey to the rn2. It is possible to visit the Pereyas reserve with a short break photo at Mandraka.

Check in to Feon'ny Ala hotel for 2 nights.
Day 2

Andasibe

The park regroup the special reserve INDRI INDRI. The reserve is indeed famous for its INDRIS colonies with a powerful shout and impressive size. A 4 hour tour will be offered on ANALAMAZAOTRA circuit; departure to VAKONA reserve in the afternoon.
Day 3

Andasibe - Antsirabe

Same route as day 1; we cross the refreshing highlands with their surprising mud houses, their small churches perched on nipples or on the hillside, the imposing rocks, the rice terraces like a big staircase and sadder but not less spectacular, lavaka or collapse due to erosion. We stop in a small corner that served as a good meal for lunch. We continue our trip a little bit t the south by visiting the aluminum cooker manufacturing at Ambatolampy. It is from there, the coldest city of Madagascar in austral winter .

Day 4

Antsirabe - Ranomafana

Visit of the city: there is the hotel of "thermes" where the king of Morocco Mohamed V spend some years on this place during his period of exile. A trip of 90 km that connects Antsirabe - Ambositra. It is the capital of craftsmanship and sculpture. Lunch break and a short visit to the art gallery; towards the village of Ranomafana in the afternoon.

Day 5

Ranomafana - Ambalavao

It is a small village lost in the Montaigne and hidden in the bottom of a large valley and immersed in the bush forest of the east but rich in biodiversity on fauna and flora. Ranomafana means "hot water". We start our visit very early so we can admire and say hello to the lemurs. Departure to Fianarantsoa around 11am; lunch break at the center of the market then direction to Ambalavao.

Day 6

Ambalavao via Anja - Camp catta

Ambalavao is nestled at the bottom of a mountainous cirque, the foothills of Andringitra. It is the south gate where we find the most beautiful buildings Betsileo style. We have time to enjoy our journey on visiting this beautiful village as the manufacture of Antemoro papers, the Anja private reserve managed by the villagers ... We travel directly to the village of Camp Catta in the afternoon.

Check in to Tsarsoa hotel and stay there for 2 nights.
Day 7

Tsaranoro Valley

A day of wlak through the hills and mountains; various circuits are available according to each condition physical but the most beautiful and famous is "chamelons circuits). Don't forget to bring water, sunscreen, hat and picnic.
Day 8

Camp catta - Ranohira

We are starting to arrive in a new territory; the highlands are coming an end and the south is spreading across the entire width of the island: the gradual end of the rice fields, the sudden appearance of large blocks of stone here and there with tombs. In the middle of the long road we sometimes meet group of zebu. We cross the arid plateau of Ihorombe and we are there.

Check in to Orchidées hotel and stay there for 2 nights.
Day 9

Isalo

It is a huge eroded sandstone massif dating from the Jurassic period. The relief is ruiniform and the panoramas are splendid especially when the sun is there. Natural swimming pool, cave, rivers, pachypodiums and lemurs are our main reason to visit. The driver will take you to the foot of the mountain and let's go for visit.
Day 10

Ranohira - Ifaty - Salary

Road to Tulear; short break at Ilakaka bridge to see this sociological phenomenon. Thousands of Malagasy have rushed en masse around the river and built in a few months a mushroom village. We continue our journey to the south through a small village that melts the production of Malagasy rum or "TOAKA GASY". Lunch break in the heart of the city of Tulear then direction to Salary in the afternoon.

The adventure trip starts here; sandy and stony track accompanied by beautiful landscapes, the bottom of the sea, happyness of children along the route.

Arrival at Salary at the end of evening then check in to Francesco hotel.
Day 11

Salary

Relaxing day, beach under the beautiful ray of the sun, Possible to make an excursion with the sinners towards the coral reef but to you'll see directly with the hotel: multicolored fish, diving ... Check in to Francesco.
Day 12

Salary - Andavadoaka

A track about 70km but the hardest part of the trip; we cross Andravogny, superbly located at the foot of the dunes and the lagoon. Passing to Ambatomilo with its dunes and crawfish collectors. We continue our adventure by visiting the forest baobabs before reaching the village of Befandefa.

Check in to Coco Beach and stay there for 2 nights.
Day 13

Andavadoaka

Beach, return fishing and laze day on the program in the morning. The afternoon will be free and can visit the village ...
Day 14

Andavadoaka - Manja

We leave early morning to reach the city of Morombe; we should previous a picnic lunch because the route is so long. Crossing Bevoya ferry: passing the dry and desert forests until Manja.

Check in to Manja hotel which is the only one infrastructure in this area.
Day 15

Manja - Morondava

A track of 6 hours connects Manja village to Morondava; dry forest, river, water channels, sandy and stony track that we will cross until Morondava. Arrival at Morondava around noon and lunch break then you have time free in the afternoon to take a rest of visiting the town.

Check in to 3 cocotiers hotel.
Day16

Morondava - Bekopaka

We will take the track to Belo / Tsiribihina; we enjoy our day visiting the sacred baobab, lovers baobab . Arriving at Tsimafana village after 4 hours drive then crossed by ferry the Tsiribihina River and lunch break in the center village . We continue our journey to the village of Tsingy named Bekopaka for the afternoon where we cross a landscape dominated by SATRANA and a grassy savannah landscape with small villages.

Check in to Tanankoay hotel and staying there for 2 nights.
Day 17

Tsingy

We will take the car to the foot of the mountain; this site "Tsingy de Bemaraha" is formed of steep limestone peaks that can reach up to more than 40m of high. We cross deep crevices, caves, canyons and labyrinths passing by a suspension bridge to reach the top of the Tsingy or a belvedere has been arranged to offer a best view of the massif. Back to the village in the afternoon to visit the small Tsingy.

Note that this park is classified World Heritage by UNESCO.
Day 18

Bekopaka - Morondava

Same route as day 16; lunch break at Belo / Tsiribihina village then crossing the ferry and direction to Morondava. Next appointment is at the baobab avenue on the sunset.

Check in to 3 cocotiers hotel.
Day 19

Morondava - Antsirabe

Departure to Antsirabe; almost of the route are good paved. Lunch break at Miandrivazo or the hottest city in Madagascar and the starting point for the descent of Tsiribihina River.

Check in to Green park hotel.
Day 20

Antsirabe - Antananarivo

Visit volcanic lakes like Andraikiba, Tritriva then direction to Antananarivo. Short visit of the city like the market of the ZOMA, pleasures of the queen then transfer to the airport or the hotel.
